Mark and Recia Blumenkranz hand-planted their vineyard in 1995, in three different hillside blocks with excellent sun exposure and ample drainage, with three different clones of  Phylloxera-resistant Pinot Noir.  The vineyard has been meticulously maintained by Coastal Vineyards over the years, with great attention to sustainable farming practices. Management of the vines and  canopy have been optimized  to produce limited yields of very high-quality fruit, suitable for making excellent wines that are drinkable now and will age well.

Our current Pinot Noir vintage is an elegant, single-vineyard wine from the estate. Unfiltered and unrefined, the wine is minimally handled to showcase the fruit and unique terroir of the Portola Valley Hills.
